Day 2 – Waking up in the Grampians National Park
The national park is home to unique wildlife that can be seen in the form of kangaroos, wallabies, emus, koalas, echidnas and a variety of other birds and plant life.
Wake up early and take a walk around your hostel. If you are lucky you will be able to spot these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Hollow Mountain and Chautauqua Peak
Exploring the breathtaking beauty of gigantic sandstone outcrops and eucalypt filled slopes in the Northern Grampians. A walk up the mountain gives you a chance to enjoy a magnificent view of Mount Stapylton and the Wimmera Plains.
The Final Leg
Halls Gap – Lunch
Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre –Learn about the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurring Aboriginal tribes.
Reed’s Lookout or Lake Bellfield - Excellent places to stroll along and breathe in some fresh mountain air
Mackenzie and Silverband Falls – Take a walk to the waterfalls.
Aussie Pub – Historic pub in a classic country town
Note: Beware that many of the walks uphill and hikes may have rocky or slippery sections. It is ideal to carry with you sturdy shoes that offer a great grip. Remember to drink water on regular intervals for hydration.
