The World of Snow
Our first stop is Lake Mountain- Melbourne’s closest alpine
resort that transforms into a Winter Wonderland in the White Season. New
facilities have been recently added, making it ideal for families and first
timers in the snow. Surrounded by miles of cross country ski tracks and
toboggan fields, you’re spoilt for choice. Make a snowman, try tobogganing,
have a cross-country ski lesson or just throw some snow-balls!
Their Ski School, with a qualified team of enthusiastic
instructors headed by world-class skiers, offers a range of lessons, so why not
A great alternative to skiing is to explore the resort by
taking a “Walk on the Wild Side” on snowshoes. Take a walk out to Echo Flat or
climb up to the summit to enjoy stunning views over the Yarra Valley that
extend all the way to Melbourne on clear
days. Experts can help you master your snowshoes in minutes.
Any trip to the snow is incomplete without building a
snowman or throwing a few snowballs. Lake Mountain’s unique snow-making
capability guarantees snow play throughout the season. This season, a special park area has been
designated for building your snowman, with weekly prizes. Let your imagination

Plenty of time is provided to visit the new health bar and
bistro that offers commanding views over the resort for a hearty gourmet meal
courtesy their very own master chef or a piping hot cappuccino to warm up your
senses and appetite.
The Tall Falls
In the afternoon, we visit the spectacular Steavenson Falls
in Marysville, which are one of the tallest in Victoria, with 5 cascades and a
total descent of 122 metres. Reinvigorate yourself by walking through nature,
hearing birds chirp and listen to the cascading waterfalls in Victoria’s Yarra
While returning to Melbourne we drive through the
picturesque Yarra Valley and visit the celebrated Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and
Ice-creamery where we sample free chocolates, view displays of thousands of
premium chocolates and see the stunning chocolatiers at work.
Their cafe nestled amongst sweeping valley vistas proffers
ice creams and decadent sweet treats created from self-grown and organic
locally sourced ingredients while the expansive lawns, orchard and sculptures
are perfect for children to play and explore.
Choose from truffles, pastilles, exquisite chocolate coated
creations inspired by the Yarra Valley surrounds, nut clusters and rocky road,
bush tucker chocolates in packaging designed by indigenous tribes and see the
‘Great Wall of Chocolate,’ a lavish display of 34 chocolate varieties, a
tempting view for the children.
After a fun-filled day, we reach Melbourne in the evening.
