A Three Day Tour of Great Ocean Road and Grampians
Price: $385 per person
Regarded as World’s largest war memorial, Great Ocean Road is one of Australia’s National Heritage sites. An impressive way to see this stretch and the Grampians is by booking our 3 day trip covering the major highlights of these marvellous destinations. Designed to explore Australia’s southern coast, this trip starting from Melbourne is unparalleled.
Day 1 – Great Ocean Road
Hitting the Beach
We start the day early and head to the iconic Surfs Beach to enjoy complimentary tea or coffee while watching surfers hit the waves. Next stop is the Eastern View of the Memorial Arch, a historic spot. Subsequently, we take a relaxing stroll along magnificent beaches. Cruising through look-out points and feeling the vibe of seaside villages and beaches such as the Lorne and Anglesea, we move ahead.
Wildlife Spotting and Bushwalking
Our next stop is Kennett River, famous for Koalas and exotic birds like King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas and Kookaburras, which are unique to this area. After some wildlife viewing we stop for a complimentary lunch in Apollo Bay. Stomach’s satisfied, we drive to Otway’s Rainforest (Mait’s Rest) for a guided 800m circular walking tour through this rare, ancient rainforest, home to the world’s tallest trees.
The Crown Jewel of Our Trip
We finally reach the Twelve Apostles. Get an excellent view of these exquisite limestone stacks or take an optional helicopter ride for a bird’s-eye view of nature’s wonder (Weather & Time permitting).
The Famous Shipping Disaster
Visit the Loch Ard Gorge, the panorama of towering ocean-touching cliffs that derive their name from the disaster of 1878. To view one of the apostles closer, we go to Gibson’s Steps leading to a beach, where one can walk to the Salt and Pepper or Razorback or simply laze around. Take a photo-stop at London Bridge before heading to Warrnambool’s Beach Backpackers for the night.
Overnight stay at Warnambool Beach Backpackers
Spend the night in Warnambool’s best backpackers, just a stone throw away from the beach.

Discovering the Essence of Australia
Our next stop is Tower Hill, originally the land of the Koroitgundidj people, where now stands Victoria’s first National Park. Walk up to the summit of Mount Rouse, an extinct volcano, believed to be over 2 million years old and enjoy a spectacular view of lava fields. Later, we stop at Halls Gap where you can get your lunch at any of the numerous eateries. Try the classic Aussie pie or a traditional Gellati. After lunch, visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre to understand the history and culture of Jardwadjali and Djab Wurring Tribes.
Exploring Chautauqua Peak or the Pinnacle
Explore the sandstone outcrops and eucalyptus covered slopes in a two hour hike, taking you through densely vegetated gullies to the base of iron-stained cliff. The top offers breathtaking views of Mount Stapylton and Wimmera plains. After the exhilarating hike, cook a true blue Aussie BBQ in the heart of the Grampians, where we spend the night at Neds Bed or Grampians YHA.

We start our day with a pleasant walk to see the beautiful McKenzie or Silverband Falls and absorb their beauty. Next, we go to Reed’s Lookout or Lake Bellfield, excellent places to stroll and inhale fresh mountain air. The Jaws of Death is a beautiful view of a rock formation shaped like an open jaw. It is a great photo-point. Visit the Jaws or Aboriginal paintings in Stawell.
