A relaxing day of wine, food and stunning scenery.
A relaxing day out with an emphasis on a wide range of wine accompanied by superb food and stunning scenery in the Yarra Valley, just over an hour from Melbourne.
The day begins at De Bortoli Winery at Dixons Creek, producers of Noble One, Australia's most awarded wine, where superbly flavoured cheeses complement the sparkling, table and dessert wines. Next is Yering Station Winery at Yering, where you taste selected estate and reserve wines in the original winery (circa 1859) before a main course lunch in their stunning Wine Bar Restaurant.
The afternoon brings Coldstream Hills Vineyard in Gruyere, established in 1985 by James Halliday to produce high quality chardonnay and pinot noir, and Medhurst Winery, located in the dress circle of the Yarra Valley, for superb boutique wines. On days when Coldstream Hills and Medhurst are closed, visits are instead made to Oakridge, Dominique Portet or Punt Road Vineyards.
